Out

There are no escape routes
from places never entered
No losses to be cut
on chances never taken

We are already in
holding our collective breath
mouths to the loophole
proclaiming prolificity
by release in exhalation
through the spiracle

In this clean, beckoning piece, expression becomes a thing not just of personal bravery, but necessary for the breathing...and implied, at at least to me, is that what lies within those places never entered, those chances never taken, are the answers that fear obscures. Another simple, complex nugget from your skillful pen, and who knows? This may be a leaping-off point for me, as well as others we hope to discover here, through the freeing spiracle...

The fear-fraught heart will always lean toward the light. But those who dare to go the other way will find every redefining answer. This invites every reader to prove it.

From what I've read so far, I would say that the editors have found their own spiracle, exuding breath into the poetic world as an echinoderm does through its spiracles. This is the act of creation to the creator - a function of being, without which the whole weakens and ... expires.
